Dog friendly walks in and around Hale Barns

There’s never a bad time to walk your dog to or from a pub.

Given our relatively urban location, Altrincham and the area around Hale Barns is actually blessed with quite a few dog friendly walks.  The closest to us is the 17 acre Rossmill Woodland site, where you can enjoy a ramble alongside the river Bollin and through the semi natural ancient woodland of the Bollin Valley.

Seasonal dog walking tips

Whenever you are planning to walk, there are a few tips you should follow to make sure every adventure is a happy one. On shorter, darker days; Invest in some high viz for you and your dog and carry a dedicated torch.

When the days eventually get brighter and warmer, replace the high viz and torch with sunscreen and water (for you and the dog). Then, whenever you go remember that having a charged phone is a modern day essential, as is keeping your pooch on a lead, especially in open countryside.
